#14 Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku

David Njoku is a player that could be in for a breakout season in 2018. Njoku was the Browns leader in red zone targets just a season ago but only caught one of his ten targets. That had little to do with Njoku and more to do with quarterback DeShone Kizer being the worst quarterback inside the red zone.

It doesn’t matter which quarterback for the Browns starts in the upcoming season, whether it be first overall selection Baker Mayfield or former Buffalo Bills, Tyrod Taylor. Either quarterback is a significant upgrade over Kizer.

Tight ends rarely breakout during their rookie season, but Njoku has the opportunity to do it during his second season with the Browns. With wide receiver talents like Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon, matchups will be much more favorable for Njoku.

Given the stars at the wide receiver position, Njoku’s ceiling is lowered, but his floor should be raised. He proved to be a solid tight end during his rookie season with poor quarterback play. Now he has an upgrade at the quarterback and wide receivers positions. I expect a good season from the young tight end in 2018.
