#2 New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski

While Rob Gronkowski tends to be the lead talk in elite talent at the tight end position, his health is a significant concern every season. His talent is exceptional, but relying on him for a full season has been tremendously hard in recent years. That is why I have decided to place him as the number two tight end in Fantasy Football this season.

In the last four seasons, Gronkowski has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark three times. The only season that he was unable to surpass 1,000 yards was in 2016 when he was only the starter for six games. Last season, Gronkowski was on the field for 14 games in which he caught 69 passes for 1,084 yards and eight scores.

New England will need Gronkowski this season as the Patriots have little at the wide receiver position. Kevin Hogan will have to step into a more substantial role, and Julian Edelman will have to return to his star performances of years past. Edelman is coming back after missing an entire season but not before he serves a four-game suspension.

If Tom Brady is going to continue to be the top quarterback possibly of all time in 2018 at age 41, he will need Gronkowski to be in dominant form. It seems that taking on part of Tom Brady’s diet paid off last season as he was healthy for 14 games but will he be able to stay healthy for the entire season for a chance is the question?
