Every season some rookies don’t hear their name called during the NFL Draft. These rookies then have the opportunity to sign with teams as Undrafted Free Agents following the draft. The Kansas City Chiefs have brought in numerous UDFA rookies that might have the chance to make the roster, if not the practice squad.
The players were first brought in for rookie minicamp this offseason, and some have even made good impressions on the coaching staff. Brett Veach has done well in his first season as general manager finding talent that can be developed.
While some fans and analysts question some of his draft choices, the man has an eye for talent. We will not know what comes of those draft picks until at least the end of the 2018 season if not a couple of years down the road.
While most UDFA rookies have very little chance of making the roster, there are a couple of players that have a shot this year with Kansas City. There are also others that will remain on the practice squad as we have seen in years past.
