ROYALS WHO COULD BE TRADED – WILY PERALTA

One of the recent names to pop into this category is reliever Wily Peralta, who has been serviceable during his time with the Royals. As of Saturday afternoon, Peralta has a 3.65 ERA and five saves to his name.

Peralta stepped into the closer’s role after Kelvin Herrera was traded and has converted all five saves he’s been asked to get. While it’s doubtful a team would trade for Peralta and used him as a closer, able relievers are important to contending teams this time of year.

Peralta also could be appealing due to being controllable through the end of 2019. Teams might come calling on Peralta, but it probably wouldn’t be for much. He’s done fine this year, but his history over the past few seasons hasn’t been great and there are better relievers out there on the trading block.

I’m still including Wily Peralta here though simply because he’s a decent reliever and as mentioned earlier, he’s converted all five saves he’s been thrown out to get. Teams covet good relievers at this point of the season.
