The bulk of the Kansas City Royals tradable players have been dealt. Who else could be flipped to another team in a trade?

So far the Kansas City Royals have traded away Kelvin Herrera, Jon Jay, and Mike Moustakas and have received a total of seven prospects in return for those guys. The trade deadline is almost here and the Royals still have some players they could decide to deal to other teams. Who are these players? Let’s take a look.

ROYALS WHO COULD BE TRADED – LUCAS DUDA

The biggest name on the trade block now that Mike Moustakas has been dealt is first baseman Lucas Duda. Duda signed a one-year deal with the Royals prior to the season and were it not for an injury that sidelined him for over a month, he’d have been a lot easier to trade.

Duda, as of Saturday afternoon, is slashing .242/.308/.408 with nine home runs and 36 RBI in 223 at bats. He’s played both first base and has been the designated hitter for the Royals this season and an American League team might have a player get injured or simply need bench depth.

Duda is going to be a free agent this offseason, so if the Royals get any offer, they should take it. There’s no point in retaining Duda at all.

After a nice game against the Yankees in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, perhaps Duda’s market is a bit bigger now. He’s not a great hitter, but when he gets hot, he’s capable of plating runs. A team might come calling and he’s the most likely Royal to be traded.
