TOUGHEST OPPONENTS IN 2018 – NUMBER 2: GEORGIA BULLDOGS

SEPTEMBER 22 IN COLUMBIA, MISSOURI

After winning the SEC, the Georgia Bulldogs are unsurprisingly the favorites to win the SEC East in 2018. Georgia was so close to winning the National Championship last year and they’ll be out to prove that their runner-up campaign was no fluke.

It didn’t look great for Georgia last year when their starting quarterback went down in their first game of the year, but freshman Jake Fromm stepped in and performed incredibly well. Fromm will likely get the reigns again this year and will be looking to top his 24 touchdowns to just seven picks performance from a season ago.

Georgia had a lot of great running backs on their roster last year, but they’re off to the NFL now, paving the way for the next great batch to emerge. D’Andre Swift will lead the charge there, likely building on his 618 yard campaign as a freshman in 2018.

Swift had four total touchdowns on the year, but was sharing time with Sony Michel and Nick Chubb. Imagine what he’ll be able to do as the main guy carrying the rock.

Georgia was also pretty dang good defensively, ranking as the second best unit in the SEC. Missouri was 12th, in case you were wondering, so yeah… That will need to be fixed to have any shot at beating Georgia. At least this game is in the confines of Faurot Field. That will give Mizzou a big advantage.
