Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver has been taking passing tips from second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes this offseason.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been an instant success during his two seasons in the NFL. Going into the 2017 season with the new role as a number one wide receiver, many analysts labeled Hill as nothing but a gadget player. It seemed that everyone outside of Kansas City thought that he would not become a pure wide receiver in the NFL.
That couldn’t be further from the trust as we saw Hill come away with 75 catches for 1,183 yards and seven touchdowns last year. Over the course of his first two seasons, Hill has taken the ball to the house 20 times in just 31 games (13 receiving, three rushing, and four punt/kick returns).
Hill, commonly known as Cheetah, has shaped to be one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. He became the best scoring deep threat receiver last year according to Pro Football Focus. While many see him as a deep threat, Hill proved to be just as dangerous after the catch forcing missed tackles.

The only part of the stat sheet for Tyreek that goes away from elite play is his passing stats. Hill threw an interception on his one throwing attempt last season during a game against the Denver Broncos last October. Fans have wondered if Hill would receive another chance at throwing the ball this season. He answered those questions on his new YouTube channel recently.
"“I’ve been practicing this whole off-season with Pat trying to get my arm right. He’s been trying to teach me how to grab the ball and throw it farther”.“And what people really don’t know is I’m right-handed. So they called a left-handed play and I’m right-handed, so that’s really not my fault”."
It’s not uncommon for head coach Andy Reid to give players a chance to try something outside of their position. We all remember defensive tackle Dontari Poe who got some snaps with the offense during his time in Kansas City. Poe had the opportunity to throw, catch, and run the ball for touchdowns.

It would not surprise me to see coach Reid give Hill another shot at throwing the ball in the upcoming season as some kind of trick play again. Given that Hill has been working on it with Patrick Mahomes this offseason and wants to have another shot, we could see him have the chance to revisit the throwing aspect of the game.
