Patrick Mahomes has an elite group of weapons

Last but not least, Patrick Mahomes has the best supporting cast of offensive weapons that anyone could ask for. Most of the rookie quarterbacks in the previous five seasons even have had poor offensive weapons. Just look at the Chicago Bears with Mitchel Trubisky last season. He had Jordan Howard at running back and a bunch of grocery workers for wide receivers to throw to.

Kansas City will return their 1,000-yard rusher and league leader in rushing yards from last season in running back Kareem Hunt. They will also be returning their two 1,000-yard receivers from 2017 with wide receiver Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce. All three of these players are one of the best in the NFL at their positions.

In addition to those three elite talents, Veach brought in more help over the offseason by signing wide receiver Sammy Watkins in free agency. Watkins has yet to be fully utilized to his capabilities, but the Chiefs look to extend his role in the offense in 2018.
