BEST GAMES OF MAHOMES’ COLLEGIATE CAREER – NUMBER 1

TEXAS TECH VS OKLAHOMA – OCTOBER 22, 2016

When it comes to the legend that was Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech, his performance against the Oklahoma Sooners is the game that most college football fans remember him for. This was a legendary game for the future Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and for good reason.

Mahomes was going head-to-head with the fiery Sooners and Baker Mayfield and both guys had tremendous performances in this one. Mahomes set all kinds of records by putting up over 700 yards through the air (Mayfield also had himself a game with 545 yards passing and seven touchdowns) and his team still somehow losing the game.

Mahomes threw five touchdown passes (all but one were at least 20+ yard scores) and he also ran in two more score with his legs. If there was ever a time where Mahomes carried his crew, it was this game. The dude threw for over 700 yards! That’s insane, man!

This game went back and forth all night long, but Oklahoma reigned supreme behind their future first overall pick in Baker Mayfield. Mahomes had just one pick, but his 734 yards and five touchdowns weren’t enough to push his Red Raiders to victory.

Not only was this game the best of Mahomes’ career, but it’ll go down as one of the best games for a college quarterback ever. He had a total of 819 yards through both the air and on the ground in what will surely go down as one of the best offensive games in the NCAA ever.

STATS: 52 of 88 for 734 yards, 5 passing touchdowns, 1 interception, 85 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns
