BEST GAMES OF MAHOMES’ COLLEGIATE CAREER – NUMBER 3

TEXAS TECH VS BAYLOR – NOVEMBER 29, 2014

Two of Patrick Mahomes’ best games as a Red Raider came against the Baylor Bears and one was during his freshman year in 2014. Texas Tech lost this particular game, but Mahomes put on a show.

He had two touchdowns in the first half, one to Jakeem Grant and another to Bradley Marquez. The one to Grant was for 27 yards and the one to Marquez was just a five yard score, but brought TTU within four of Baylor in the second quarter.

Texas Tech was down 45-27 at one point, but Mahomes caught fire in the third quarter. He hit Devin Lauderdale with a 48-yarder, connected with Marquez on a 40-yard pass, and synced up with Deandre Washington on a 49-yard touchdown pass to give the Red Raiders back-to-back-to-back scores. They were only down by five after that pass to Washington.

Mahomes gave it his all on TTU’s final drive, hitting Marquez for his sixth touchdown of the day (and Marquez’s third), but the Red Raiders would fall by a score of 48-46. Mahomes did throw an interception, but otherwise, he was as solid as a quarterback could be in a game.

STATS: 30 of 56 for 598 yards, 6 passing touchdowns, 1 interception, 27 rushing yards
