BEST GAMES OF MAHOMES’ COLLEGIATE CAREER – NUMBER 4

TEXAS TECH VS IOWA STATE – OCTOBER 10, 2015

Iowa State might not have been a difficult opponent in the 2015 season, but Mahomes made sure to keep his Red Raiders ahead with his prolific performance against the Cyclones during his sophomore year.

Mahomes put his team ahead with a 75-yard pass to Jakeem Grant in the first quarter and connected with Grant again later on a 37-yard strike. His other three touchdown passes were for 33 yards to Reginald Davis, a 49-yarder to Deandre Washington, and a three-yard pass to Jonathan Giles.

That pass to Giles put the Red Raiders ahead 52-24, so Mahomes was pulled from the game and Davis Webb handled the quarterbacking duties for the remainder of the game. Had Mahomes stayed in, it’s likely he’d have added another touchdown or two to his totals and then who knows? Maybe this would have been his best game of his TTU career.

STATS: 33 of 46 for 428 yards, 5 passing touchdowns
