Right Tackle: Mitchell Schwartz

Spending his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, right tackle Mitchell Schwartz left Cleveland to join the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 offseason and has been a starter there since. Schwartz continues to be one of the best right tackles in the NFL, which is needed in the AFC West as it’s full of elite pass rushers.

Schwartz has done an excellent job against the AFC West division over the last few seasons. Denver Broncos edge rusher Von Miller was held without a single sack in the two matchups last season and Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers was held to just a single sack in the two showings.

Allowing little pressure from elite talents like Bosa and Miller is a great indication of why Schwartz is an elite right tackle. It’s also a clear indicator of why Schwartz is earning the third highest CAP hit among NFL right tackles in 2018. Right tackle is still underrated as teams primary pass rusher tends to line up on that side.

If you think of it that way, Schwartz and many right tackles around the league are getting underpaid. With LDT to his left, Schwartz will continue his elite play and be able to focus primarily on top talents coming around the edge.
