Training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs is right around the corner. For a team with a bunch of question marks, there’s plenty to look for. Here are the top three.

The Kansas City Chiefs will have a new look this fall. New players, new schemes, and new coaches. There are plenty of spots up for grab, with position battles spread throughout the roster.

Most of these spots are on the defensive side of the ball. However, with 90 players attending training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri later this month, a spot on the final roster is the ultimate goal. Competition is a good thing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Attending the training camp is one of the best experiences a Chiefs fan can have. There is always the chance of getting autographs, plus you get to see first hand what an NFL practice is like.

If you are like me, your eyes will be on the practice field, studying the team, watching the guys battling for a roster spot or a starting position. The Chiefs could have as many as eight new starters on this team, including Sammy Watkins and Kendall Fuller.

The number of spots up for grab is intriguing in itself. Some positions have just a couple of guys battling, while others, like the receiving and running back groups, are overcrowded at the moment.

The new guys brought over in free agency and the rookies drafted in this past draft are obvious things to look for. So for now, we won’t go over the absolute obvious. Over the next two weeks, we will look at each position very closely.

These are the top three things to look for during camp in my opinion. How these battles are fought and won could change the future of the franchise in many different aspects. Let’s get to it. In case you’re wondering, Mahomes gets his own piece next week.
