Former Kansas City Chiefs player Dexter McCluster worked out with the Toronto Argonauts on Tuesday and is likely to sign with the team.

The Toronto Argonauts have brought in former Kansas City Chiefs player Dexter McCluster for a workout on Tuesday. Reports indicate that McCluster is likely to sign with the team. It seems that McCluster will be moving to the Canadian league to further his football career.

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted McCluster in the second-round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Playing seven seasons for the Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, and Los Angeles Chargers, it seems that he is unable to find a home in the NFL after not playing in the league during the 2017 season.

During his seven seasons, McCluster rushed the ball 250 times for 1,042 yards and two touchdowns. He complemented his run game with 236 receptions for 1,933 yards and seven touchdowns while also returning 74 kickoffs for 1,554 yards and 133 punts for 1,388 yards and three touchdowns.

2013 was the best season of McCluster’s career when he earned a trip to the Pro Bowl as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. He was elected as a return specialist after putting up 686 punt return yards and two touchdowns that season.

During his one season with the Chargers, McCluster only played in seven games where he earned seven receptions for 36 yards while running the ball just three times. He appeared in six games in that 2016 season before he suffered a broken forearm.

Back in March, McCluster was hired to coach Ravenwood freshman football team in Tennessee. Now it seems that he will be trying to keep his playing days alive instead of coaching high school football in 2018. Toronto looks to utilize his talents at not only running back but in the return game as well. Could McCluster revamp his playing career in Canada?
