Markieff Morris has been a solid player at the next level each year

Markieff Morris was drafted five minutes before his twin brother Marcus as the 13th pick of the 2011 NBA draft by the Pheonix Suns.

Markieff averaged 8.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for Kansas basketball. His junior year he increased his previous numbers averaging 13 points and eight rebounds per contest.

Markieff spent five seasons with the Suns, averaging 11.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. During the 2013-2014 season, he became just the third player since 1989 to shoot over 75% in three consecutive games with at least 12 attempts per game. The other two players were Dwight Howard and Charles Barkley, pretty good company.

During the 2015-2016 season, he became clearly unhappy with his situation in Pheonix. He was fined for publicly demanding a trade before the season started and suspended multiple games for throwing a towel at head coach Jeff Hornacek during the fourth quarter of a late December game with the Denver Nuggets.

His last game with the Suns was on February 10th, 2016, when he got into a physical altercation on the bench with a teammate.

Eight days later he was traded to the Washington Wizards.

Now in his third season with the Wizards, his head has cooled and he’s continued his productive ways. He’s averaging 12.7 points and six rebounds per game. He has started all but six games played with Washington.
