Selby leads the way for most disappointing one and done Jayhawks

Josh Selby came to the Jayhawks as the overall No.1 in the final Rivals.com rankings in 2010. A McDonalds All-American combo guard who had huge upside and limitless talent.

In just 26 games as a freshman, he only started 11 contests. Selby averaged 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. In high school, he averaged 32 points per game for Lake Clifton Campus in Baltimore.

His first game at Kansas he scored his season high in points with 21 against USC. In his last 13 games as a Jayhawk, he never scored more than nine, which came in the sweet sixteen match up with Richmond. During that span, he failed to score in three separate games.

Selby chose to leave school for the NBA despite his unimpressive stats as a freshman. Selby was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 49th pick of the 2011 draft.

Josh saw action in 38 games over two seasons with Memphis, averaging 2.2 points per game. After the 2012-2013 season, he took his talents elsewhere.

Selby has played for teams such as Cedevita Zagreb and his current team, the Incheon Elephants. He was a two time Israeli League All-Star in 2015 and 2017.

Selby’s future could have been spent in America had he fine-tuned his game and played just a couple more seasons for Bill Self. Obviously.
