And the winner is….

No. 1 Frank Mason

Of course it’s Frank Mason. The National Player of the Year. The 2017 Big 12 Player of the Year. The baddest point guard to ever play at Kansas, an all-time great at Kansas. There is no other player, let alone senior, that was better than Mason at the collegiate level.

The most decorated player in Kansas Basketball history. Mason won 10 different National Player of the Year awards his senior season.

Frank Mason was the prototypical Bill Self guy. He had a mental toughness, a desire to win, and a competitive edge that shown bright.

He finished his career at Kansas ranked 6th in both points and assists. He scored 1,885 points and tallied 576 assists over four years at KU.

Mason became the only player in Kansas lore and Big 12 history to average more than 20 points and 5 assists in a season. There have been great players come through Allen Fieldhouse and the Big 12. Only Mason can say he did what he did.

As a four year senior he did so biding his time a picking his shots. He took the national attention and ran with it, not disappointing in the least.
