Kareem Hunt will be better than his rookie campaign

Eric Bienemy spoke about taking the gloves off Kareem Hunt this season. What this means for opposing defenses is a ton of bad news.

Kareem Hunt led the league in rushing last season with 1,327 yards. He took the league by storm right out of the gate. He can run you over, make you miss, and he’s an added receiver out of the backfield.

Eric Bienemy spoke on what the Chiefs plan for Hunt is this season.

"Kareem is a smart kid, and he’s accepted the challenge and he’s doing a very good jobb at picking up the new tasks that we’ve asked him to do. Understand, he was a rookie last year. A lot of times you don’t want to put too much on their plate. So you want to try to walk them through the process. Now we have taken the gloves off, hey, Kareem you’ve been here for a year, you have a clear understanding of what we want and how to approach it, let’s make sure we are maximizing our opportunity."

Taking the gloves off means to me that Hunt will be doing a lot more with the football this season. This has to scare the living daylights out of teams around the league.

This nucleus of guys on the offensive side of the ball doesn’t allow defenses to key on any certain position or any certain player. This means fewer times defenses are stacking the box, and fewer blitzes coming Mahomes way.
