DEFENSE IS A QUESTION MARK

From 2014-2016, the Chiefs defense was top notch and carried the team for the most part. Last season we saw the changing of the guards between the offense and the defense, as the offense was the one winning games for KC.

A lot of that was due to Eric Berry getting injured in the first game of the season, but let’s be honest here… The Chiefs defense was old in 2017. Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson are both gone now, Ron Parker was let go, and Marcus Peters was traded.

The Chiefs have gotten significantly younger on the defensive side of the ball and that’s always an experiment. Berry is back this year, but will he be as effective before he got injured last year? Will he still be the leader on that defense?

If Mahomes isn’t this gunslinging maniac that everyone thinks he’ll be and the defense experiences a lot of growing pains, it’ll be REALLY tough for this Chiefs team to not only win the division, but to win games.
