TOUGH SCHEDULE

The Chiefs will have a tough path to winning the division for three straight years and their first four games are absolutely brutal. They’ll start out on the road against the Chargers and while the atmosphere won’t be all that intimidating, the Chargers are the Chiefs’ biggest threat to steal the division from them.

In week two, the Chiefs travel to Pittsburgh and we all know how much the Steelers have wrecked the Chiefs over the years. Week three is the Chiefs’ first home game and it’s against the high-rising 49ers. The next week will be the first Chiefs vs Broncos game of the year and it’s on the road.

To sum up, three of the Chiefs’ first four games will be on the road, which doesn’t bode well for a team hoping to make a dent early on. Since KC finished first last year in the division, they’ll face the other first place teams from a year ago, meaning they’ll play tougher teams than their divisional foes.

KC’s toughest opponents this year will come against the Rams, 49ers, Seahawks, Patriots, Jaguars, and Steelers. It won’t be easy to rack up wins against teams like these, which is why the tough schedule is a reason why the Chiefs won’t three-peat.
