NUMBER 4: ELVIS GRBAC

2000

Elvis Grbac is a different case than what we’ve covered so far. He played for the Chiefs prior to 2000, but since this article is ranking the starting signal callers since the millennium, we’ll only take into account his stats from 2000.

We all know WHY Grbac was still a Chief in 2000, as the franchise opted to go with him as their starting quarterback over Rich Gannon. That still hurts to this day, so let’s not discuss it any further.

Grbac went 7-8 as a starter in 2000, throwing for 4,169 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. His numbers were decent, but the team didn’t go anywhere. The Chiefs ended the season with a disappointing 7-9 record and missed the playoffs for the third straight year.

Elvis Grbac’s time in Kansas City was up after that 2000 season and he spent the 2001 season with Baltimore before calling it a career. Chiefs fans aren’t fond of Grbac, but sadly, he’s the fourth best starter this team has had at quarterback since the year 2000.
