ALEX GORDON

Alex Gordon is in a similar boat as Ian Kennedy, but at least he’s not as pitiful this season. Gordon is currently batting over .265, which is a welcomed number compared to his dreadful 2016 and 2017 stats.

Gordon is a tremendous outfielder and he’s back to being decent at the plate, but teams likely won’t inquire about trading for him due to his contract. He’s due $20 million next season and that’s simply too high for a guy who will be 35 years old next year.

Alex Gordon has redeemed himself somewhat this year, but his injuries are growing each season and it’s doubtful that a team would be willing to part with any players in order to acquire him. The Royals would have to pay a good chunk of the salary anyway, so what would be the point in trading him?

While this contract doesn’t seem as terrible now, it’s still not one that another team is going to want to have to pay.
