The backup race: Blake Mack

Once the 2018 NFL Draft concluded, Veach called up many undrafted free agents, and invited them to the Kansas City Chiefs rookie minicamp. After the process of evaluating the rookie’s performances, Veach quickly signed guys that had high potential. Mack was one of those guys.

Although not having any NFL experience, like the others, Mack’s college career may be all the Chiefs need in order to make the decision. Mack played college football at Arkansas State.

While with the Red Wolves of Arkansas State, 96 receptions for 1505 total yards, and 11 touchdowns. Those are very impressive numbers for Mack, and it shows every reason why the Chiefs were quick to sign him to a rookie deal.

Mack’s potential making the roster is as good as any. Mack’s age matches the offensive youth movement and might wind up making the roster in his first-year attempt.
