The backup Race: Tim Wright
Wright has been in the league since 2013, and has spent his time with three different teams, making the Kansas City Chiefs his fourth. Starting with the Buccaneers, following a time with the Patriots, and then with the Lions, Wright eventually found his way to Chiefs Kingdom.
As a whole, Wright has 54 receptions for 571 yards, with not one touchdowns. Those may not the flashiest stats, but Wright has yet to start an NFL game. Which is why he could fit in well with the Chiefs, as they are not looking for giant contributions, rather, just to give Kelce a breather.
TE Tim Wright’s contract is a 1-year deal. His base salary is $705,000 in 2018. #Chiefs

He was signed by the Chiefs to improve the depth, as well as give the Chiefs a larger sample size to create the perfect formula at the tight end position. Wright has a legit chance to make the 53-man roster, due to his experience in the NFL.
As far as probabilities go, Wright has a great chance to make the roster. Veach signed him for a reason, and I am liking the way things are looking for Wright, and the Chiefs.
