Kansas City Chiefs: Dissecting the tight end depth chart
By Kyle Hull
The obvious one – Travis Kelce
I know what you may be thinking, does this writer do anything else other than state the obvious? Well, yes, I do, but in this case, you have to wait for it.
Kelce is the guy at the number one tight end position, and there is no questioning to why that is the case. He is built like a tight end but runs his routes like a wide receiver.
In this day in age, you do not find tight ends as agile as Kelce. Kelce is everything you want a tight end to be, in a high-tempo offense.
While at the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce has 307 receptions for 3,900 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was Chiefs former quarterback Alex Smith’s go-to target, in about every game. So, obviously, there is a reason he is rated as the Chiefs number one tight end, and the NFL’s number one tight end. Yeah, come at me Patriots fans.
