KERWYNN WILLIAMS

It looks like there might still be two running backs with the same name on the roster this year (Kareem Hunt and Akeem Hunt last year). This Williams, Kerwynn Williams that is, isn’t a big running back (5’8, 198lbs), but could be primed to fill in the return man role within this position group.

Williams had 426 yards on the ground last year for the Cardinals and found the end zone once. He was helping out more so than expected when David Johnson went down with an injury. The Chiefs obviously liked what they saw in the former Utah State standout.

After Akeem Hunt’s placement on the reserve/PUP list, the Chiefs will look to add someone with some decent return skills and Williams could fit the bill. That would likely mean the end of the Charcandrick West era in Kansas City.

It will be sad to see West’s name not on the roster anymore. Unfortunately for him he doesn’t seem to be much of a return man and may have his third down reps taken away by another good blocking back and the second name on this list, Darrel Williams.
