ARRION SPRINGS

Oddly enough, I had the Chiefs taking Arrion Springs in one of my mock drafts during draft season. He was a sixth round pick by KC in that particular mock draft and was the only corner I had the Chiefs taking.

Now it’s worth noting that that mock took place before Marcus Peters was traded and after KC had acquired Kendall Fuller, so the starting cornerback positions seemed locked in. Instead, we all know what happened and the Chiefs definitely need to keep all of the talented secondary depth that they can.

Springs wound up going undrafted in this year’s draft and KC was smart to sign him as an undrafted free agent. Springs might not have been a turnover machine like Peters was, but he was pretty dang good in coverage, receiving an 88.2 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus.

Arrion Springs is someone that most Chiefs fans probably don’t know, but he could very well wow all of us and stick around for awhile. Keep an eye on Springs this preseason.
