With a new quarterback running the offense, things will look totally different for the Chiefs. Setting Mahomes aside, who is the going to back him up? Take a look as I dissect the quarterback depth chart, and what it means for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The rookie minicamp ended last Sunday, and now it is time for the organization to focus their attention on who should carve their way into the final 53-man roster.

Once again, the Kansas City Chiefs loaded up their workout roster with an abundance of talent. Anywhere you look, it appears that the position has the potential to do great things, and that is no different for the quarterback position. Well, depending on how you look at it.

Patrick Mahomes II, Chad Henne, Matt McGloin, and rookie Chase Litton appear to be the ones fighting for their spot onto the 53-man roster.

Now, it is no secret that Patrick Mahomes II has secured his spot as quarterback number one. However, who trails behind him, as his understudy is an interesting concept to watch develop.

Behind Mahomes lies the three other players listed above. They each bring their own personal style to the position, however, is it safe to say that fans need to hope, and pray Mahomes stays healthy, for the sake of the season.

In this article, I will be breaking down each player, explaining what they bring to the table, and who most likely will be the odd man out of the depth chart. Yes, I understand trades or another form of a transaction may change the quarterback overall outlook. But, for the sake of timing, let’s look at the present roster, and what it has to offer.
