Tight End

Returning: Travis Kelce, Demetrius Harris

Out: Orson Charles

In: Alex Ellis, Tim Wright, Jace Amaro, Blake Mack

In Travis Kelce, the Chiefs have arguably the best tight end in football outside of Foxboro. However, Kelce saw a small drop from 2,106 in both catches and yards despite being targeted five more times. The good news has he doubled his touchdown catches from four to eight. But as we saw in the playoff loss, they lack depth.

Demetrius Harris continues to frustrate Chiefs fans. He’s had some big catches and has made himself into an adequate blocker. But he drops nearly 20% of the catchable balls thrown his way and has had a few that really stung. Add to that a felony drug arrest that was pleaded down to a misdemeanor, and the Chiefs may be ready to move on.

Former Jets second-round pick Jace Amaro may be the most intriguing member of the new group of tight ends. At 6’5″ and 265 pounds, he has the size to be a credible threat.

After a promising rookie campaign in 2014, he suffered a torn labrum the next season and has struggled to regain his form. If he’s healthy, he could be a candidate for the number two or number three spot.
