David Amerson

David Amerson comes to Kansas City from the rival Oakland Raiders. Although his career has not been made up of human highlight reels, he has all the capabilities of being a playmaker.

Over five seasons he has tallied eight interceptions, two for touchdowns, 64 pass deflections, and 252 total tackles. He has a unique chance here in Kansas City to work his way into a starting role, as well as being utilized all over the secondary.

Amerson can play all over the field, which will come in handy for a Chiefs team that may have some depth issues in that secondary. This means lots of playing time and lots of potential to make those big plays.

The Chiefs are surely hoping that Amerson can become the player he has shown in the past. At North Carolina State, during his sophomore year, he put up some outrageous numbers that grabbed the attention of everyone.

That year he collected 13 interceptions and two scores. 13 interceptions is an accomplishment all in itself. If Amerson can find his eye for the ball, and become rejuvenated in 2018, he could very well be the steal of free agency.
