SAMMY WATKINS

It’s hard to put this name on the list without taking a single snap in a Chiefs uniform, but Sammy Watkins falls into the overrated category. Unlike the others on this list, Watkins’ salary hit has already caused him to be overrated. Only time will tell whether the Chiefs investment will translate to the field.

[Watkins] has a lot to live up to this season.

This ranked list of wide receivers salaries puts Watkins at number four. When names like A.J. Green and Julio Jones come after Watkins on that list, it appears as though his deal might be a little much.

The signing of Watkins brings a lot of excitement to the Pat Mahomes era, but let’s just hope that he breaks out of the already perceived overrated category. Jeremy Maclin fell into this same category and we saw how that chapter ended last summer.

While it’s not fair to already throw Watkins into a negative category, the guy has a lot to live up to this season. If he isn’t the red zone threat that he’s been advertised as, then he’ll quickly become someone Chiefs fans want to move on from.
