VETERANS THAT MIGHT NOT MAKE THE ROSTER – ERIC MURRAY

The KC Chiefs parted ways with Ron Parker earlier this offseason and then signed Robert Golden. They also drafted Armani Watts out of Texas A&M in the fourth round and many seem to think this kid could be the Chiefs’ best pick this year. Oh, not to mention Dorian O’Daniel has played some safety before too.

With all of that said, could Eric Murray‘s time in Kansas City be coming to an end? The former Minnesota cornerback turned Chiefs safety played in 14 games last season and started two. In those games, Murray totaled 26 tackles, five defended passes, and one sack.

Eric Berry is coming back this season and will hopefully return to his 2016 form, so that side of the field is locked up. Murray could be an option to backup Berry moving forward, but it’ll depend on who the Chiefs like between him and Daniel Sorensen. Cutting Sorensen would save the Chiefs more money, but he’s definitely the better player between the two.

This will be Murray’s third year with the team and it wouldn’t be the least bit shocking if the team opted to move on from the safety.
