VETERANS THAT MIGHT NOT MAKE THE ROSTER – DEMETRIUS HARRIS

This is wishful thinking on my part, but I think most Chiefs fans would agree with me on this one. Demetrius Harris, the former UW-Milwaukee basketball player turned NFL tight end, has had more than enough chances to prove that he has the chops to make it in the pros. He hasn’t lived up to those opportunities given to him.

The Chiefs did not draft a tight end this year, but they bought in Jace Amaro and Tim Wright through free agency to compete for the second and third tight end spots on the roster. Orson Charles, who held the third spot last year, was already let go.

Harris has just 45 receptions for 441 yards and three touchdowns during his four years in Kansas City. He’s become known as “the guy who can’t hold onto the football” and that’s never someone fans want on their team.

Even though Harris and Patrick Mahomes had some chemistry in the week 17 game in Denver last year, Harris hasn’t shown enough flash to merit keeping him on the roster. The Demetrius Harris Experiment needs to end.
