LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – DERWIN JAMES (17TH OVERALL PICK)
The Chargers got an absolute steal when Derwin James fell to them at 17th overall. James was one of the best defensive backs in the draft and fills a position of need in Los Angeles.
The #Chargers stay where they are and take the best defensive player available. It’s #FSU DB Derwin James at No. 17, who Gus Bradley will have some fun with.

The Chargers posted one of the scariest defenses a season ago and this pick only makes them scarier. James had 84 tackles a year ago with Florida State and should instantly improve the LA secondary.
There was some debate as to whether the Chargers might opt to add Lamar Jackson, but James falling as far as he did made the decision seem to be a no-brainer. The Chargers definitely got better after their first round pick and they’re going to be a tough team in 2018.
