EVERY CHIEFS FIRST ROUND PICK – 2008 NFL DRAFT: GLENN DORSEY

With the fifth overall pick in 2008, the Kansas City Chiefs went with Glenn Dorsey, who was supposed to shore up their defense. Instead, Dorsey would record just four sacks throughout five seasons and was easily one of the biggest busts of that draft.

Dorsey finished his time as a Chief with 159 tackles and four sacks, but was not what the organization thought they were getting with the fifth overall pick. He was not re-signed and went on to play for the 49ers for the next four years.

Dorsey is currently not in the league. Looking at some of the options in that 2008 draft, the Chiefs could have had some great additions to their defense, but of course they struck out with Dorsey. Typical for that era of Chiefs football.

It was surprising to see that Glenn Dorsey made it through the 2016 season. Many Chiefs fans thought he’d disappear after he wasn’t re-signed in Kansas City, but he made the most of his opportunities in San Francisco.

WHO KC COULD HAVE HAD: Jerod Mayo (10th overall), Jonathan Stewart (13th overall), Dominique Rogers-Cromartie (16th overall), Aqib Talib (20th overall)
