2018 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

New York Giants – Chris Taylor

31. . Running Back. Penn State. Saquon Barkley. 2. player

As a general manager, I must find a happy medium between need and best player available. Saquon Barkley made this an easy decision. The Giants felt like Barkley was both a need for the team and the best available player. Barkley appears to have exactly what the Giants need to mend the last few years.

The pressure will be taken off of Eli Manning now with a respectable running game behind him. This should help the offense get back in to the swing of things as defenses will no longer be able to drop defenders. Barkley has a chance to be a dominant force for years to come.

Staff Reaction: I would never draft a running back in the first round, so I’m definitely not taking one top two. Barkley is without question the best running back in the draft, and the Giants do need one, but a team can find a running back in any round. Look no further than Chiefs history of Jamaal Charles and Kareem Hunt, both third round picks. – Britt Zank
