2018 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Pittsburgh Steelers – Chris Taylor

55. . Quarterback. Oklahoma State. Mason Rudolph. 28. player

Ben Roethlisberger can’t play forever, so it’s time to draft for the future after Big Ben calls it quits. With the top five quarterbacks off the board (and four taken within the top ten), the Steelers wait their turn and use their first round pick on Mason Rudolph.

Rudolph will be a good starter, but he might need a few years before being thrown to the wolves. He threw for 4,904 yards, 37 touchdowns, and nine interceptions last year at Oklahoma State. Steelers fans should be excited about this pick.

Staff Reaction: The Steelers know Ben Roethlisberger is probably nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career, so drafting a quarterback in the first round is a smart move. With the top five options taken already, Mason Rudolph probably wouldn’t have been available much longer. – Leigh Oleszczak
