New general manager Brian Gutekunst blew up the Pack’s defensive backfield in the offseason. Speedy Denzel Ward is a terrific start toward rebuilding it.
Ward is slightly undersized at 5’10”, 183 pounds, but showed the ability and speed (4.35) to blanket the opposing team’s top receiver during Big Ten action.
Staff Reaction: If Denzel Ward is still on the board here, then this is a no-brainer. As Scott alluded to, the Packers are going to need secondary help and Ward should give it to them. – Chris Taylor
