With the departure of Navorro Bowman, the Raiders are desperate for middle linebacker help. They won’t be able to pass up the best in the draft in Roquan Smith out of Georgia.
A three-year starter in the SEC, Smith is a three-down linebacker who can stuff the run and drop back into coverage. He’s an automatic starter and upgrade for a defense ranked 23rd overall last season.
Staff Reaction: The Raiders made a good pick here, adding arguably the best linebacker available in the draft. Roquan Smith should be a staple in the Raiders’ defense for years to come. – Leigh Oleszczak
