The 49ers made headlines when they signed Richard Sherman to a contract, but their secondary isn’t quite to that Seattle Legion of Boom level just yet. Bringing in Derwin James would give them options in their secondary and would help make them one of the more under the radar teams defensively heading into the 2018 season.
Staff Reaction: There are plenty of places for the 49ers to go here. I see them going with a linebacker such as Rashaan Evans or a corner like Denzel Ward. A nice safety next to Sherman won’t hurt them though. – Chris Taylor
