WILDCATS WHO COULD BE DRAFTED – D.J. REED (CORNERBACK)

Now we get to a player who more than likely will hear his name called in the 2018 NFL Draft. D.J. Reed is not only a good corner, but he also could become a huge name on special teams by returning kicks and punts.

What will probably end up knocking Reed to a Day 3 pick is that he lacks the size of an NFL corner. He’s still a phenomenal player, however, and his stat sheet from college proves just that. While he might lack the size as a corner, Reed’s return skills could be what attracts teams to him.

Reed spent the 2014 season with Fresno State before playing for a community college in 2015 and finally landing in Manhattan with the Wildcats in 2016. He performed well in both seasons, totaling 125 tackles, 25 defended passes, and seven interceptions during that time.

The California native also returned one kickoff and one punt for touchdowns and was always a threat to take it to the house. Reed will definitely get drafted, but probably not until the third day of the draft.
