Wichita State Shockers: Potential opponents for first two rounds
The Wichita State Shockers drew a four-seed for the 2018 NCAA Tournament and will see Marshall in the first round. Who else could the Shockers face and what should we know about these opponents?
With their first regular season in the AAC wrapped up, the Wichita State Shockers got the benefit of receiving a four-seed in the tournament. The Shockers used to get a middle seed due to previously being a part of the lesser praised Missouri Valley Conference.
The move to the AAC mixed in with their ninth straight season of recording at least 25 wins and Wichita State was blessed with a higher seeding, in this case, a four-seed. They’re a part of the East Region and their first opponent will be Marshall. The two will play at 12:30 CST in San Diego on Friday.
If the Shockers beat Marshall (more on them in a bit), they could square off against either West Virginia or Murray State in the Round of 32. Obviously it’s best to focus on each game at a time, but it’s hard not to look ahead.
Let’s get to know these potential first weekend match-ups for Wichita State.
