Nebraska Basketball: NCAA Tournament history for Cornhuskers
1994 NCAA TOURNAMENT
Nebraska achieved basically the same type of season in 1993-1994, notching a 20-11 overall record and 7-7 conference record. What made Nebraska so dangerous in the 1994 season was how good they were at scoring points, ending the year ranked tenth in points scored per game.
Nebraska went 1-3 against ranked schools, with their lone ranked win coming against Kansas. The Cornhuskers were unranked all season long, but finished the year out as the 22nd ranked team in the nation.
Big Red made a run in the conference tournament that year, blowing out Oklahoma and then finally getting revenge on number three ranked Missouri (who had swept them during the season). Unfortunately, Nebraska couldn’t get past 23rd ranked Oklahoma State.
Once again, the Huskers didn’t get the job done in the big dance, losing by ten points to Pennsylvania of the Ivy League. They had four straight years to try and advance and couldn’t quite accomplish that task.
