ALL-TIME LEADERS IN RUSHING YARDS – NUMBER 8: KEN CLARK (3,037)

Nebraska Running Back from 1987-1989

In the late 1980s, Nebraska had a running back by the name of Ken Clark, who is the first player on this list to go over the 3,000 yards rushing mark. Clark had an impressive resumé in Lincoln, totaling 494 carries for 3,037 yards and 29 touchdowns in three seasons as a Husker.

Clark took off in 1988, carrying the football 232 times for 1,497 yards and 12 touchdowns. He’d record 12 touchdowns again in 1989, but on less carries (198) and with less yardage (1,196). Nebraska would never lose more than two games in a season when Clark was in town and the guy still sits in the top ten when it comes to rushing yards.

He was an eighth round draft pick by the Colts in 1990 and spent three years in Indianapolis. Unlike some of the guys on this list, Ken Clark actually saw significant playing time in the NFL and appeared in all 16 games for the Colts in 1991.

Sadly, Ken Clark passed away in 2013 from a heart attack.
