GERSO FERNANDES – WINGER

The former three players I’ve touched on are all American players, which is great to have and fun to watch them play for our country. Soccer definitely has talented players outside of the U.S. though and that’s why bringing Gerso Fernandes in 2017 was a great move.

We saw what Fernandes was capable of in year one with SKC, as he played in 32 games, started 26 games, and scored eight goals for his new team. If that’s any indication of what’s to come, then Sporting Kansas City fans could be in for quite a ride with this kid.

Fernandes is just 26 years old and has the chops to be one of the best players on the team. With some key free agents potentially leaving after this season, it’ll be important for Fernandes to step in and continue to help this team as best he can.

This is only year two for Gerso Fernandes and Sporting inked him to a three-year contract initially with a fourth-year option. That means we could have Fernandes in Kansas City through the best years of his career and that’s pretty exciting.
