ROUND 6: PICK 35 (209TH OVERALL) – KAMRIN MOORE, CB (BOSTON COLLEGE)

When in doubt, keep adding defensive backs. The Chiefs go with another corner in the sixth round (one of their sixth round picks was actually flipped to LA, but this mock draft does not reflect that) and add Kamrin Moore out of Boston College.

Moore spent four seasons at Boston College, totaling 142 tackles and 21 defended passes. He was a starter for three years in school and will be a project for the Chiefs for the first year or two.

Where Moore excels in is as a tackler, where he had 50 total last season. Tackling appears to be an issue with a lot of defenders in the NFL, so if the Chiefs can get a guy whose specialty is tackling, sign me up.

The knock on Moore is that his man-to-man coverage isn’t quite NFL-worthy just yet. That’s something to be cautious of, but the Chiefs will bring him on and hope to get some good special teams play and maybe some decent experience in the secondary where he isn’t involved in man-to-man coverage.

"Stocky, determined cornerback who lacks the man-to-man cover skills and ball production teams will be looking for from a draftable cornerback. However, Moore’s toughness as a tackler and experience on special teams may get him a look from zone-heavy teams looking to add competition at the nickel cornerback spot. — “Bottom Line” on Moore, NFL.com’s Draft Profile"

At this point, it can’t hurt to keep drafting cornerbacks. Who knows? The Chiefs might even hit on one that they pick up late in the draft. Kamrin Moore has enough talent to be picked up on Day 3.
