ROUND 6: PICK 22 (196TH OVERALL) – LOWELL LOTULELEI, DL (UTAH)

This could end up being one of the more risky picks, but the Chiefs have had decent success in the sixth round in years past. Lowell Lotulelei (yes, Star’s younger brother) had nice numbers early on during his time at Utah, but his senior season left something to be desired.

The biggest thing that frequently seems to be linked with Lotulelei regarding the draft and his NFL future is that he disappointed for the Utes in 2017. He had just six tackles in nine games while also tacking on a sack and a half. Not exactly mind blowing numbers.

Lowell Lotulelei might be given a boost on draft boards due to being his brother’s brother and his early college career numbers, which is what the Chiefs will be hoping they get from him production wise. His best year was actually as a freshman in 2014, where he recorded 33 tackles and four sacks.

"Scouts have serious concerns about Lotulelei’s love of football and overall work ethic. He was slow and sloppy this season and his quickness suffered badly because of it. Teams looking to draft him will have to be leaning on his 2015 or 2016 tape because he was a reject in 2017. — “Bottom Line” on Lowell Lotulelei, NFL.com’s Draft Profile"

This could be a risky pick, but the Chiefs have turned guys like this into stars before, so let’s see what they can do with a “disappointing” college prospect.
