For our fourth 2018 NFL Mock Draft of the offseason, the KC Chiefs are focused early on on replacing the talent that cornerback Marcus Peters provided.

What’s frustrating about that statement to the majority of Chiefs Kingdom is that the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t have to trade Marcus Peters. I would have been okay with it had the compensation been HUGE, but it wasn’t. The Chiefs got just an extra pick this year (a fourth rounder), which this mock draft does not include.

Anyway, with Peters off to Los Angeles, the Chiefs now have to find another cornerback to add to their roster. Obviously they opt to do that early on in the 2018 NFL Draft. It’d be nice if they could have gotten a first rounder for Peters, but a player with major attitude issues was not someone that a lot of teams wanted to give up a lot for, no matter how good the player.

As usual, I used Fanspeak’s “On the Clock” simulator to put this mock draft together. I used Matt Miller from Bleacher Report’s big board, which I have found to be one of the better draft boards the site offers.

Each week the mock drafts I do have a theme revolving around them and this one is about replacing Peters. The Chiefs had a game changing cornerback with Hall of Fame numbers and traded him to another team. Now they’ll look to replicate that production with a prospect who we’re not sure if he’ll turn into anything or not. Sigh.

Okay, let’s get to volume four of our mock draft series!
