Marcus Peters is a steal

Marcus Peters is one of the best 3-5 corners in football. In only three years in the NFL, his numbers are, quite frankly, staggering. In 49 games (regular season and playoffs), Peters has 21 interceptions, the most in the NFL in that span. He’s also forced five fumbles and scored three touchdowns.

He’s been selected to the Pro Bowl twice. In 2016, he was a first team All-Pro. In 2015, as a rookie, he was a second-team All-Pro, in addition with being selected as the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and the all-rookie team. And that only tells half the story.

Peters is only 25-years-old. He’s on a rookie contract through 2019, with a team option for 2020, after which he could presumably be franchise-tagged.

In short; he’s a young, cheap, ball-hawking all-pro.

When you look at those numbers on paper, the idea of an NFL franchise wanting to trade that player sounds borderline moronic.
