The Kansas City Royals aren’t going to be real active in free agency this offseason, but we can all dream that they will be participants, right? That’s what this wish list is for.

Now that the Kansas City Royals won’t be retaining Eric Hosmer, Dayton Moore and company has been pretty vocal about the team not being all that active in free agency. I feel like even without Hosmer, the team could make strides to not be terrible if they’d go after other options on the market.

I guess what it comes down to is that the Royals are okay with winning 70 games as opposed to 77 games and it’s tough to blame them for that. If you’re going to be bad, just be bad.

At the same time, however, I wouldn’t mind the Royals still bringing in some free agents. Who are some options that could have made sense for the team? Let’s take a look.

FREE AGENT WISH LIST FOR 2018 – LOGAN MORRISON (FIRST BASE)

Moore pretty much eliminated any chance of this happening, which is frustrating because Logan Morrison actually WANTS to play for the Kansas City Royals. He knows they’re going to be bad and he still wants to play for his hometown team!

Not only that, but the Royals’ best option at first base is now apparently Hunter Dozier, who has had just 19 at bats during his major league career. Translation: The Royals need a more reliable first baseman, but with a rebuild on the horizon, Moore and the gang don’t want to shell out a two-year deal to Morrison.

I get if you’re going to suck, then don’t fight it and just suck, but Morrison could be the fill-in player at first base until Nick Pratto is ready in a few years. We have no idea what we’re getting at first base in Hunter Dozier, but hey… Gotta see what he can do, right?

For what it’s worth, Morrison had 38 home runs last year and could also be used in a designated hitter role. Oh what could have been…
